New Website: How to Apply the Scriptures to Your Daily Life

March 7, 2011 - PRLog -- The purpose of this website is to awaken, inspire and transform you by assisting you to APPLY the scriptures to your daily life.  Doing so will give you greater peace and comfort to know that God is intimately involved in your life, and the strength to triumph over your trials.

Unless and until the messages of the holy scriptures are written deep within our hearts (and not just our minds), we are living well beneath the blessings the Lord has in store for each and every one of us. We have probably all read from the scriptures, talked about them, and have even watched a poignant video or movie depicting a scene from them, but the question is: are you LIVING what the scriptures teach by applying them to your DAILY life and seeing the miracles occur?

Nephi stated, “I did liken all scriptures unto us, that it might be for our profit and learning.”  (1 Nephi 19:23)  

We, too, can liken all scriptures unto us for our profit and learning, and as we do so, the scriptures will give us greater peace and comfort in our lives as we gain a deeper understanding of who we are and why we are here.  

For Our Profit

The word profit means “an advantageous gain or return.”  By applying the scriptures to our daily life, they will help us find our individual purpose, passion and mission–the one we were primarily sent here to do to add value to the world.  When we add value to the world, by law, we get value in return–most easily seen in the currency of money.  One can then understand how it is that money is spiritual.  When we are living our Divine purpose, God wants to bless us, and one of the many ways He does this is through money.

For Our Learning

We were all sent here to earth to learn–for our Spirits to grow and to experience things in a physical world.  The scriptures are replete with principles to teach us and to help us understand eternal truths–especially those taught by Jesus Christ during His mortal ministry.  As we liken the scriptures to our daily lives–particularly to the trials, the challenges, and the struggles–we gain a deeper knowledge and understanding for their purpose.  We learn the reason for them, and we learn how to overcome them.  Ultimately, we learn the true meaning of love from our loving Heavenly Father.
