TaptoPay joined the first African Public Transport Congress and Exhibition

Feb. 28, 2011 - PRLog -- HONG KONG - TaptoPay Limited (TaptoPay), a global supplier in the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) industry, participated in the first African Public Transport Congress and Exhibition held at the Le Meridien Hotel in Dakar, Senegal from 3 to 7 October, 2010. TaptoPay's sales and marketing team showcased their AFC products and services in the exhibition and its Regional Sales Manager for the African Region, Mr. Alfred Choy, delivered a speech in the event's congress.

This first African Public Transport Congress and Exhibition was organized by the Union Africaine Des Transports Publics (UATP). In its maiden year, the event focused on the theme, A Sustainable Public Transport Service for a Competitive African Economy, and brought together various policymakers, experts and stakeholders in the transport and mobility sectors from Africa and other continents.

Taptopay was among the 35 exhibiting companies, with Alfred, participating as a speaker in one of the eight congress sessions. Joining the session on the integration of different transport services, Alfred spoke on the topic "Automatic Fare Collection System in Multi-modal Transportation," providing a comprehensive discussion on the concepts behind AFC and the proven business applications in many regions of the world. In conclusion to his speech, Alfred highlighted the viability and benefits of AFC in linking various transportation modes to bring convenience, higher efficiencies and other benefits to commuters, transport operators and governments.
