The Barkers Dozen Helps Make a Valentine’s Tail Come True

Feb. 11, 2011 - PRLog -- CHICOPEE, Mass. – Love is in the air, and it’s making tails wag! The Barkers Dozen’s Homemade Organic Pet Treats will be featured as a favor at the Valentine’s Day Wedding between two pups in love, hosted by Canine Celebration, a fundraising event organization dedicated to helping animal charities.

Canine Celebration’s Second Annual Valentine's Day Wedding event in New York will join Lady Biegnet and Giorgio, two Maltese who met over Facebook last year and won the Puppy Love contest, according to Canine Celebration’s Web site. Both pups and their owners are animal activists involved in animal rescue and awareness. The pair’s engagement began at Fashion Week 2010, according to the organization.

As part of the festivities, The Barkers Dozen will supply organic dog treats and biscuits in goodie bags to the celebration’s guests. The event begins at 1 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres at the PETCO located at 1280 Lexington Ave., New York. The ceremony is scheduled for 2 p.m., followed by a “pawty” emceed by MC Mike.

Five dollar raffles will be sold for prizes valued at up to $1,000, following the ceremony. Raffle donations will support MightyMutts & Ollie’s Place, an all-volunteer, no-kill nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating New York City strays, according to Canine Celebration. Food and drinks will also be served. Other caterers and supporters include Affordable Caterers, A Barkers Dozen Gourmet Dog Treats, Pet Nutrition Systems, Florisan LLC, Eric Ferrar Photography, and Sarah Gross of RESCUE CHOCOLATE.
