Feb. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- Under the hood, the base Express trim comes equipped with a powerful 2.4-liter inline-four cylinder engine that is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. The engine produces 173-horsepower with 166 lb-ft of torque.

Other trim levels such as the Mainstreet and the Crew come equipped with an all-new 3.6-liter V-6 engine with 283-horsepower and 260 lb-ft. of torque. The V-6 engine is coupled to a six-speed automatic with either two- or four –wheel drive.

The new 2011 Dodge Journey competes with top contenders in the crossover segment such as the Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot, Nissan Murano, and Ford Edge

Exterior features of the new Dodge Journey come with lower bumper styling, Dodge’s signature crosshair grille, LED taillights, sunscreen glass, 16-inch steel wheel, heated side mirrors, and roof rails.

Features like a power sunroof, fog lights, halogen quad headlamps, dual exhaust tips, and 17- or 19-inch aluminum rims are optional.

The 2011 Dodge Journey is spacious inside with high-quality materials, an all new dashboard and an instrument panel. Interior features that come standard include fabric-covered heated front seats, manual air conditioning, tilt/telescoping steering wheel with audio controls, second-row floor bins, a six-speaker audio system with 4.3-inch touch-screen, and auxiliary/USB ports for your iPod.

The new Journey offers up to 67.7 cubic feet of cargo space when all rear seats are folded and can up to seven. Optional interior features include an Infinity premium audio system, rechargeable flashlight, built-in second-row booster seats, automatic air conditioning, leather-trimmed upholstery, an six-way power driver’s seat with four-way lumbar adjust. A Garmin-based navigation with Bluetooth® calling and Dodge’s new Uconnect touch 8.4 are also available.

To increase protection, the 2011 Dodge Journey offers numerous useful safety features such as side-impact airbags for front seats, side curtain airbags, driver’s knee airbag, antilock brakes, traction control, electronic roll mitigation, active front head restraints, and a stability system. Rear parking sensors and a backup camera are designed to prevent bumping into anything when backing out. Both features are optional.
