Twin Cities Author Artemis Sere Releases First of Bonesetter Anthology with “Obscurious”

Feb. 2, 2011 - PRLog -- Roseville, MN – February 2, 2011 –  A union of creative storms, the newest publication from recently self-published Minneapolis, Minnesota author Artemis Sere has to be seen and breathed, rather than experienced on a digital screen. An interactive anthology of poetry, short fiction, photography and graphic art, “Obscurious” blurs the lines of the surreal, metaphysical and philosophical, while straddling the fence of painfully brutal and comically whimsical. Generated from over twenty years of artistic creations in various media, the book serves as an introduction to the world of an artist whose goal is to share his unique voice and style with the world.

According to Mr. Sere, “I am here to create, to shoot the stars out of the sky with arrows of human intuition and ammunition. I am here to clear the air, to diplomatically restate, in any channel available to me: Humans first. Through my artistic expression--through graphic art, photography, poetry, fiction, and various other outlets--I hope to fuse a new human truth, beyond mythology and mysticism, using the secular tenets of each to help humanity evolve and recognize its birthright of natural beauty, divinity and distinction.”

“The Bonesetter’s Revenge” is an eight-book meditation on life, truth and humanity from a globally diverse (and sometimes perverse) secular humanist, inked in blood and set in bone. The first book, "Obscurious", covers topics ranging from American culture and politics, health conditions, love, loss, death, rebirth and the highs and lows of humankind, revolving around the theme of the ancient Greek Bonesetter.  The poetical picturebook draws from personal experience and features 156 pages of unique artistic vision and reflections. Printed through Lulu.com and designed and promoted by Antithesis Press, the book is currently available through Etsy, Ebay and Lulu, and will be made available in the future through major booksellers such as Amazon, Borders and Barnes & Noble.

“Obscurious” is the first of eight books in the “Bonesetter’s Revenge” anthology.  While there are no set dates for future releases from the anthology, Mr. Sere plans future releases of fiction novels that are already in development, as well as a revised, “Red Badge” version of “Obscurious”.  He is available for contract work in creative writing, fiction, journalism, marketing, communications, graphic design or photography.  A full visual portfolio of his work can be found at artemissere.deviantart.com.

Mr. Sere has a Creative Writing degree from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and a professional history in photography, web design, graphic design, fiction writing and poetry.  He has worked in many markets and industries, including legal, medical, technology, and telecommunications.  He has produced and managed the marketing of several musicians in the Twin Cities area, and has treasured ties with the artists around the world.  In his free time, he dabbles in sports journalism with his PackerAddict.com website.

On Saturday, February 19, 2011, the Saint Paul Bagelry in Roseville, MN, will be hosting the first local appearance and signing by author Artemis Sere.  Much of the “Obscurious” design was completed over extended breakfasts at the Saint Paul Bagelry, and they are elated about hosting his first event. The author will be available from 9:00am-12:00pm.
