Visual artist, Karin Elsner, will be featured at Driven Art + Music Conference at the Seminole Ha

Jan. 28, 2011 - PRLog -- Inquisitive about her ancestry and other cultures, the artist has traveled extensively and lived within diverse social realities, absorbing their essence and learning from their philosophies of life. Since 1985, Elsner has focused on photography, specializing in nature, people and tradition. In her view, there is no separation between these three. "We are Nature, children of Earth Mother, as much as the trees and plants, the animals and birds and all our relations.
Deeply inspired by this vision, her recent work is an organic abstraction of nature. Created digitally, her images reveal fractals, octaves, waves and patterns within the compositions, echoing the interconnectedness of our planet. Applications include laminating the images on wood for hanging as individual artworks; creating customized architectural borders; integrating with established products, such as picture frames, shelving and furnishings; and printing on fabric for the design and fashion industries.
Elsner’s goal is to capture the innate beauty of Earth and convey to the viewer the intimate relationships that exist. “My hope is that people will be reminded that we don't own the Earth - we are simply a part of all that lives. When we destroy a species or ecosystem, we destroy ourselves, our children and future generations. Native people have always known this."
