Jan. 25, 2011 - PRLog -- Australian Author, Vernon Anley, won the Editors of All Book Review award for his novel 'A Carnival of Lies.' His book  gives the most detailed description of life in Dachau and Auschwitz to be found in any novel. So intimate are the details, that some critics have described the book as a thinly disguised survivor’s story.  Anley comments on the novel: "One of the more pervasive myths of our era is the absolute authority given to first-person testimony of survivors of concentration camps. Since the generation of survivors will soon die out, to believe that only those who were actually caught in the Holocaust should represent it, risks consigning  the past to oblivion."

Educated in Australia and England, Anley worked for the Ministry of Overseas
Development in the West Indies before taking up academic posts in Saudi Arabia
and the Far East. In addition to his novels, he has co-authored several books on
linguistics, written radio scripts and articles describing his travels in the
Hejaz and Yemen.
