Jan. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- Born in New York City to a “show biz family”- Dad Luigi Martini was a well known and respected character actor and singer until his death in 1970 -- Lou Jr. made his film debut in the classic “The Godfather.”  Lou’s other childhood roles included the Mary Tyler Moore film “What’s So Bad About Feeling Good?”  After Luigi’s death Lou’s mother decided to pull him out of the business. However, Lou always had the bug and decided after graduating from the University of Houston to go back home to NYC and pick up where he left off.

While working on his craft, and his connections, it was landing a leading role in the off-Broadway smash “Tony n Tina’s Wedding” that was his first break. He performed in the hit show for three years.  At the same time he was trying his hand at stand-up comedy. He performed as a lounge-type character by the name of “Vic Green,” while at other times he performed as himself, lamenting about the perils of living at home with his one-in-a-million Mom, Nikki (the inspiration for “My Louie,” a work in progress sitcom being looked at by several networks.)    Lou has also starred off- Broadway in such shows as “Pleasant Avenue” by Edwin Torres, “Gangster Apparel” by Richard Vetere, the world premiere of “On the Waterfront” by Budd Schulberg and the current off-Broadway hit “Murdered by the Mob.”  This past summer, Lou performed at the Penguin Repertory Company’s world premiere of “Centennial Casting,” where of his performance, a reviewer said, “Martini is sweet and shy, with a husky, higher-pitched voice that reminds one of Bruno Kirby of "When Harry Met Sally …"

Lou’s television credits include numerous appearances on NBC’s “Law & Order,” and her sister shows (Criminal Intent and Special Victims Unit.) Lou was also seen as the ill-fated series regular Bobby By-Pass on CBS’s “Falcone.”  Lou has also been seen in Sydney Lumet’s critically acclaimed “100 Centre Street,” NBC’s “As the World Turns” and “Late Night with Conan O’Brien.” Lou became America’s favorite doorman on the “E” Television network’s smash hit “Gastineau Girls.” With write-ups in such magazines as “New York,” Lou has garnered much publicity and fanfare.

The hardest working actor in New York, Lou can be currently seen in the most watched series on television, HBO’s “The Sopranos” as the recurring character, Anthony Infante, brother-in-law to New York mob boss Johnny Sacramoni. Lou’s latest film work includes the critically acclaimed independent feature film "Lbs" which will be released theatrically nationwide in April 2007.  "Lbs.," which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, is a fresh and entertaining account of one man's battle to defeat his addiction to overeating.

2006 has been a busy year for Lou, along with “The Sopranos,” he has guest starred on episodes of “Law & Order,” “Conviction” Fit TV’s “Fit Family,” and Denis Leary’s hit show “Rescue Me.”  And he is set to make his Broadway debut next winter as “Charlie,” the manager of Mario Lanza in his life story “Be My Love.”

Lou will be starring in the soon to be released indie vampire movie “Seekers”.  Other soon to be released films include the black comedy, “The Parlor”, co-starring with James Wilder and Gordon Klapp, “Tony n Tina’s Wedding” with Mila Kunis.  Lou’s latest DVD releases include “Season of the Hunted” co-starring with Muse Watson, “Prince Charming” with Christina Appelgate and the indie cult favorite, “Dummy” with Adrian Brody.

Now Sissy will have the opportunity to see what drives Lou this Friday night 7:30pm EST on MNN Channel 56 TWC in Manhattan or on our website www.thesissygamacheshow.com
