The 2011 Buick Enclave comes in two trims: the CX and CXL, both with the option of front-wheel or all-wheel drive. Powered by a fuel-efficient 3.6-liter, V-6 engine, the Enclave offers 288 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque. This powertrain provides an ample amount of get-up-and-go, but does so efficiently. With an EPA-estimated 24 mpg highway for front-wheel drive models and 22 mpg highway for all-wheel-drive models, the Enclave ranks ahead of any other eight-passenger SUV on the road in fuel economy.

The engine is paired with a Hydra-Matic, six-speed automatic transmission, which brings about a seven-percent improvement in performance and up to a four-percent improvement in fuel economy compared to front-wheel-drive, four-speed automatics.

As efficient as the Enclave is, its engine is still able to produce power similar to many V-8 engines.

The Enclave offers three rows of seats and room to comfortably seat seven or eight, yet manages as much cargo space – 24.1 cubic feet – as the trunk of some large sedans. When all the seats are folded, the Enclave can take on 115.9 cubic feet of cargo, which bests major competing vehicles like the Lexus RX350, Volvo XC90, Audi Q7, and the Acura MDX.

The Enclave welcomes those passengers with what Buick calls a “warm and inviting” interior, with premium cloth seats standard on the CX and heated leather seats standard on the CXL.
