Jan. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- David and Jennifer Sharp of Chester, VA have given birth to a very special baby boy.  Colin, born December 8th was conceived through in vitro fertilization (IVF) thanks to a financial grant awarded by The Cade Foundation in Baltimore, MD.

Jennifer, 33, and David, 34, knew that it may be difficult to conceive after David’s paralyzing spinal cord injury at 19-years-old. The couple then looked to adoption and brought  home their first son, Bo, from China in 2007. After receiving word that the couple would not be able to adopt again, they decided to explore their medical options. Bo’s pre-school teacher told the Sharps about the Cade Foundation and the Family Building Grant. Her son and daughter-in-law had previously received the grant.

Baby Colin was born at a normal  birth rate and is doing excellent.  Big brother Bo is excited!  To date, the Cade Foundation has awarded  four couples in Virginia with the Family Building Grant.  Joshua and Patricia Green of Richmond received the grant in 2007, and welcomed their first son and the first Cade Foundation baby, Caden in February 2009; Ben and Mary Lambert of Richmond received the grant in 2008 and welcomed baby Benjamin in March 2010; and Troy and Deloris Murray of Richmond were awarded the grant Fall 2010.
