Staffing Specialists Offer Option for Professional Job Seekers

Jan. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- As a response to the increasing number of professional-level job seekers out of work in the region, WORKFORCE CENTRAL FLORIDA (WCF) now offers a service to assist professional job seekers with their career search – staffing specialists.

“Our community’s needs are changing and we are seeing more professional job seekers in our offices than ever before,” said Gary Earl, president and chief executive officer of WORKFORCE CENTRAL FLORIDA.  “Staffing specialists allow our job seekers who have degrees and numerous years of experience to meet one-on-one for resume coaching, job search training and other services customized for them.”

During this one-on-one appointment, a staffing specialist assesses the job seeker’s job search strengths and challenges and will recommend WCF services to help improve the success of the job search.   Staffing specialists provide the following services:

Resume Coaching – Staffing specialists will critique resumes and help job seekers to discover tips and tricks to apply with multiple resumes in today’s electronic market. Participants can gain access to BrainFuse, an online tool for clients of staffing specialists that offers a second layer of resume critique and feedback on practice interview questions online.

Advanced Labor Market Information – Staffing specialists can provide customized information about careers, salaries, training, openings and information.

Assessment Tools – Job seekers can take online interest and assessment tools to help determine future career moves

Job Search Coaching and Leads – WCF will help job seekers search for their next job in WCF’s online job bank and others, suggest solutions to overcome barriers, offer words of encouragements, and work with them every step of the way to their next career opportunity.

Priority Entrance - Staffing specialists will invite these job seekers to special events and offer VIP access and early admission to hiring events.

Paid Internships – Staffing specialists connect job seekers to programs they may qualify for, such as paid and unpaid work experience programs to enhance their resumes.

Due to the overwhelming demand on services, staffing specialists are limited to job seekers with professional-level experience.  Qualifications include:

- A Master's degree,
- A bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience,
- An associate's degree and four years of professional experience or
- A high school diploma and six years of professional experience.
- Graduates of WCF’s Workforce Investment Act (WIA) training program may also qualify.
