Jan. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- As one of the few flight schools selected in the United States to educate and train Chinese students to become pilots, Aerosim Flight Academy received inspectors from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) for an annual inspection. The CAAC is the equivalent of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the United States and provides oversight of flight training operations for Chinese cadets.

With sixty student pilots from the Civil Aviation Flight University of China (CAFUC) arriving last month and additional students expected in 2011 to include Chinese students from various airlines in China, Aerosim Flight Academy is staged to fulfill China’s flight training requirements.

China’s Shenzhen Airlines also visited Aerosim Flight Academy. The airline is expected to send 24 students in February 2011. Their A320 Captain, Zhou Lei, flew one of Aerosim’s Piper Seminoles and when questioned about the academy stated, “Aerosim Flight Academy teaches like the airlines; the school and the operation manual are very professional.”

The students will train at Aerosim Flight Academy for eleven months and then return to China to fly large commercial aircraft such as the B737 and A320. Additional cadets from Shandong Airlines and Dong Hai Airlines will also train at the academy in 2011.

CAAC continues to work with Aerosim Flight Academy because it has the reputation and proven track record for training new pilots for airline operations in China. With the United States having a predominantly open airspace, it provides a great opportunity for flight training. The English language immersion by living in the United States is critical to the total success of the programs as it is the mandatory language of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

“We are excited to continue to train international students,” said Paul Woessner, Senior Vice President of Aerosim Flight Academy. “We work hard to help the students achieve excellence in pilot training and safety as well as provide a positive life experience for them while they train with us.”
