“At TMI, we have a tradition of educating the whole person, including our students’ ethical development,” says the Rev. Nathan Bostian, the school’s chaplain. “Dr. Kreeft’s books find their subjects in the intersection of academics and spirituality, philosophy and science. As a Christian scholar, his work is highly accessible to the general reader.”

The Daunt Lectures began in 2000 at TMI; the name honors the Rev. Canon A. Nelson Daunt, Ph.D., the school’s headmaster from 1976 through 1987. The series features noted speakers from diverse religious backgrounds whose work explores the religious dimensions of contemporary moral social and public issues. Previous speakers have included Maj. Gen. Josiah Bunting III, former superintendent of Virginia Military Institute and novelist, and Ralph C. Wood, University Professor of Theology and Literature at Baylor University.

Daunt, who died in 1992, is honored by the memorial lectures for his vision that led to the establishment of TMI at its present campus.

Kreeft previously appeared at TMI in 2001, as one of the presenters at the C.S. Lewis Summer Conference.
