Dec. 8, 2010 - PRLog -- A group of teenage video-game enthusiasts in Adelaide, Australia hope to raise money for schools in developing countries by broadcasting a live stream of a 3-day gaming marathon on the Internet.

The event, which will commence on December 11 at midday, will see the players take shifts to complete a total of fifteen widely-appreciated games, including Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Call of Duty, Halo, and Sonic.

The marathon will last for at least 72 hours, during which the players will be interacting with the audience in the online chat room and prizes may be given out to donators. But the marathon is not just about gaming, with the rules stating that "the team with the least points at the end loses, and we'll wax their captain's legs for your enjoyment."

All donations solicited will go to an Adelaide-based charity organisation, World Youth International, to help educate and empower underprivileged children in developing countries. In particular, the money will be used to support a school in Nepal.

"Since we just graduated from school," said Toby Zerner, event organiser, "why not give some less fortunate kids the chance to have the same opportunity?" The marathon is appropriately titled Game Over School.
