Dec. 6, 2010 - PRLog -- Great idea for a fun 5k run. The shirts, Christmas Santa hats, and beard make for great pictures and conversation. We'll be bringing our kids (6, 8) next year.

I will definitely see you again for this one next year. Great shirts, velvet Santa hat, beard and the most interesting packet pick-up ever - I was there as Peerless Rugs burned to the ground.

Given it's a 5k, I didn't see much need for cookies and chocolate along the way, but my wife kind of liked it. I would've put that at start/finish, as it got crowded at the stops.

I think they should have had some salt ready to put down in a few spots ... lots of people slipped and fell.

The finish line was clogged up. Next year they need to clear people out of there, so the photographers and runners crossing the line have room.

Overall, it is really a wonderful experience. There are a few improvement areas, but nothing major. It's just a fun run, so don't expect to post a personal record on a crowded, narrow course covered with snow.

This was overall a really fun race! The slippery surfaces could have been improved with a little salt, but the snow certainly made the whole event more festive. Although I planned on a PR, the crowd seemed resigned to running safely (not quickly) and this was, by far, the most courteous groups of runners I have encountered in Chicago racing as a result.

The goodies along the way seemed like a great idea pre-race, but I would move them to the end of the race. Also, it would be great if they were a centralized area for food/drinks and another one for sponsors. I never did find any water post-race and resorted to drinking.

I had great fun! Love the shirts, Santa hats for kids, and beards. I agree with others that the candy would be better at the end. Fun idea though...especially for those who don't care about time. Always nice to dream of a PR, but Mother Nature doesn't always cooperate! Nothing the race director can do to change Mother Nature! Like the post-race party food. We were lucky to get there early enough before really long lines.

Thanks for a great race! I liked the set up of the course, fun even with the crazy snowy weather. The shirts were creative. And who doesn't love Christmas Santa hats! Looking forward to next year......
