Esmeralda and Jose-Luis’s Wedding Wish

Nov. 30, 2010 - PRLog -- HOUSTON, TEXAS - The love story of Esmeralda and Jose-Luis is full of determination, support, and heart…literally. It all started with a chance meeting. Esmeralda was working with the State of New York she happened to meet Jose-Luis in a grocery store and it was love at first sight. “My heart would not stop beating and at that time I knew he was the man for me,” Esmeralda says.

Although Esmeralda and Jose-Luis were married 14 years ago at the Justice of the Peace in New York, Jose-Luis promised his bride they would have a blessed union that would be recognized by their families.

Every time they began planning the nuptial celebration, something life altering would occur and would hinder their plans. In 2004, when plans were finally underway, Esmeralda suffered the loss of her mother unexpectedly to a heart attack. A year to the date later, Esmeralda suddenly lost consciousness in the middle of the street. When rushed to the hospital, a hole, the size of a half-dollar was found in her heart and nurses were in disbelief that she was even walking around. She had undergone multiple open heart surgeries because when one hole in heart was repaired, another opened. Esmeralda was also in a coma for 6 months, had pacemakers implanted and removed, and much more.

“Every time I got discouraged, my husband would put my daughter’s picture in front of me. I am so thankful to him and to doctors who finally listened to me about what I know my body was telling me.”

Despite all odds and the ups and downs, Jose-Luis has stood by Esmeralda’s side unconditionally. He has done all he can to keep his promise of  a blessed union so Wish Upon a Wedding Houston is granting their wedding wish on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at the breathtaking La Torretta Lake Resort and Spa.
