By: Bharatbook Global demand to rise 6.5% annually through 2014 World fluid handling pump demand is forecast to rise 6.5 percent annually through 2014 to $69 billion. Accelerating fixed investment spending, process manufacturing activity and primary energy consumption growth will support gains in the worldwide pump market. The rate of increase in real terms will match the 2004-2009 pace. However, growth in nominal (current dollar) terms will slow somewhat, restrained by decelerating pump price hikes as energy and raw material costs moderate. ( http://www.bharatbook.com/ Asia/Pacific region to claim most new demand Three-fifths of all new fluid handling pump demand generated during the 2009-2014 period will be attributable to the Asia/Pacific region. Pump sales in the region are predicted to rise almost nine percent annually through 2014 because of solid advances in fixed investment expenditures, primary energy consumption and nonbuilding construction spending. Several Asia/Pacific countries are projected to record impressive gains, including China, India, Malaysia and Indonesia. China alone will account for 43 percent of all new global pump demand between 2009 and 2014. Central and South America is expected to be the next best performing market, followed closely by the Africa/Mideast region and Eastern Europe. Although growth in developed parts of the world -- the US, Canada, Japan, Western Europe and Australia -- will not be as strong as in most industrializing areas, it will still be quite healthy by historical standards. A rebound in fixed investment spending, primary energy consumption and construction activity will bolster pump sales in these nations. Many countries are projected to register healthy pump sales gains through 2014, including Australia, the Netherlands, Canada, Austria, Japan and Spain. The US pump market is projected to expand more than four percent per year during this period, a slight improvement over the 2004-2009 pace. All pump types to expand at similar pace Sales of the various pump types -- centrifugal, positive displacement and other -- will expand at a similar pace through 2014. The growing popularity of application- Process manufacturers to be fastest growing market Process manufacturers will be the fastest growing pump market between 2009 and 2014. Gains will be driven by an improved outlook for most process manufacturing industries.
