ZebraHat's music is always a creation in progress

ZebraHat started out doing open mic’s every Wednesday and Thursday at the blues club in Alaska.  There her boss noticed that she spent most of her free time writing music and tapping out beats.  Every where she went, she would take out her paper and pen and write and tap.  She held a few positions at this local blues club, but that one fateful night when she decided to fulfill her passion, her truth emerged and her mission became a reality.  

ZebraHat’s new single, “Been Gone” is off of her new CD, “Transformation”.  This song is about falling in love with someone, then falling out of love and learning to love what’s sometimes not easy to love.  “It’s who people really are underneath all the masks and facades they put up”.  This song has an absolutely unique sound to it – reminiscent of Indian music rhythm mixed in with a powerhouse voice and an undeniably powerful song with a crescendo to die for. Its earthy appeal along with such a wonderful recording technique and delivery makes this song, along with all of her music,  sustainable and very memorable.  

ZebraHat had the innate ability to transcend cultures and bring many genres together to create such an effect. You can pick any song in her library and you will never find any two that sound alike.  They are all unique and has the ability to grab your attention right from the start.  

ZebraHat’s new CD is available digitally.  She is also working on the physical CD cover at this time, creating a beautiful painting full of mystery and elegance.  After all, visual, whether physical or in your mind’s eye, is part of the attraction.  

“I want to thank Octo5 for making some sweet n spicy tracks I can kick to.  I also want to thank The Ambient Society with my first collaboration song.  He gave me a song called Firmament and it was like an open door of heaven straight out of hell - that’s what music has been to be my saving grace when I was lost and along and felling well, quite like a complete failure.  I hit the bottom of the fish tank, broke the glass and kept sinking, but those times are just pages in life’s written biography, especially now.  I also want to thank Jonas Larsson.  He’s a metal band I’m currently working with in Sweden and of course, my vocal coach in Alaska, Big Mitch.  He believed in me in a time when I couldn’t.”
