Nov. 8, 2010 - PRLog -- Rapper-turned-diva, Cher Lloyd, haunted viewers on Saturday's show with her rendition of Shakespears Sister's hit single Stay.

Gone were the baggy tees and raps, and in their place gothic stagewear and ballads as Cher stole the show with her shock song choice.

Cheryl's protege received rave reviews for her emotional performance and take on the '92 classic.

One of our MY Sun X Factor judges, HBhouy, couldn't believe the promising hip-hop starlet pulled off this number.

He said: "I've always liked her performances even though her style isn't my cuppa but I didn't think a 17-year-old could sing such a BIG, emotional song, and nail it to the ground.

"But boy, nail it she did! And not a gimmick or a dance troupe in sight."

Peterborough United FC chairman, Darragh MacAnthony said:  “I enjoy listening to Cher sing and watching her perform. She has such great presence on stage.”

Lisab599 added: "Wow, got to say she blew me away! I wasn't expecting that at all."

While judge supremo Simon Cowell called it the best performance of the season, Robbee2 isn't sure it was quite up to that standard. "Credit where credit's due, she did well. Not as utterly 'best of the season' like Si said but quite good with a bit of emotion other than arrogance thrown in for good measure. Not bad."

Galahad says Cher is up there with the rest of the prime acts: "Actually this week Cher was pretty damned good, she proved she was more than just a wannabe rapper bad girl."

Cher will go on to win the all-singing and dancing contest, reckons Milagrosa. "The very best is yet to come. This whole thing is so orchestrated. Who was really surprised that Cher sang a song dressed like a woman, without a rap thrown in for good measure? It was a foregone conclusion the big reveal was always on the cards. This young woman is going to win, my money is on a win for Cher but my winnings won't be spent buying her CDs."

Chocorocker thinks she was a chip off the old block: "She's like a mini-Cole and I think that's why she might just make it all the way to the top. Cher gave a very good performance and she was more likeable. No jumping around, no trying to rap, no dancers, no baggy clothing, only singing. But, why all the fuss from the judges? And they strategically gave her the last spot. It's as if Cheryl told her to look like a sad, scared little girl up there so people will vote."

Pendiz said: "It was probably her personal best but she's nowhere near the real singers - Rebecca, Treyc, Mary, Matt - in terms of having a powerful, strong, true voice. I thought she was a bit wobbly (maybe nerves)."

Tallullah142 isn't sure that her surprising performance will help her go further in the competition: "Well to be fair I thought it was better than all her previous efforts and was a relief not to hear the contrived 'rapping' but 'performance of the season' going a bit too far I think! And the personality change? No swagger and posturing? Just tears... don't quite know what to think."

It wasn't anything special said lion74: "Cher was just OK this week. I cannot understand Simon drooling over her performance - must see dollars and pounds in her performance."

filmstar40 isn't rating her chances: "Cher Lloyd is a poor second rater that Simon thinks can earn him a few quid - if he didn't she would not get near this show. Sorry love, you will be leaving us soon."

Cher's attitude stinks says Manutdking7: "She is the most cocky, arrogant contestant there has ever been on the show, and I think that she really thinks she is gonna win. She shrugged her shoulders a couple of weeks ago at Dannii Minogue's comments, like she didn't give a **** what Dannii thought,

"Arrogance will only get you so far. I hope she goes in the next few weeks."

Arrogance must have been a Factor for her poor reception as 34 per cent of users wanted to see the 17-year-old get the chop from the show in this week's SunVote poll.

Sideless still believes she can get her act together: "There's still a chance for Cher, she's only young."

But chabra1 doesn't think she has the X Factor. "Cher sang an ordinary but very easy song in a very low key, then the tears and then the undeserved praise from the judges. It all stinks but the prop worked 'cos lots of people now are tipping Cher to win. Let Rebecca or Treyc sing the same song and that would show just how AVERAGE Cher is."
