Are You Trying To Shape Your Shot?

I like the fact you can shape your shots with this driver, most of the other drivers just concentrate purely on correcting mishits and getting everything straight, so this is a nice change.

Nov. 7, 2010 - PRLog -- Trying to find the middle with the long ball? Looking for some shape to your shot? Thanks to SasQuatch Sumo geometry, the strategically located CG (center of gravity) gives you the freedom to work the ball and laugh in the face of even the most sadistic course designers.
The deep-faced profile and rounded Nike PowerBow design offer the best in performance options, allowing you to hit it long and straight, or shape it like the game’s best players . The Nike PowerBow design strategically positions weight in the clubhead to optimize the CG location. Accepted by players on all levels, the PowerBow stands as true innovation which results in longer, more accurate drives.
One of the first things you notice about the SQ Sumo 5000 is its deep profile, the Silver highlighted PowerBow weighting at the rear makes it look a bit ‘squashed’. Although I like the 3 stripes of colour and the polished nameplate in the center, make no mistake this is not an ugly club even with the extremely deep profile.
The 5000 came out in 2008 with a lot of promises, Tiger Woods said that with this next generation of Sumo clubs they had delivered ‘something we’ve never seen before in the history of our sport’. But does that apply to this driver?
Well in terms of innovation then there is not a lot to shout about, I mean they have the PowerBow weighting which pushes weight low and deep, lowering the center of gravity for a higher launch trajectory, and also giving more weight to the corners to increase MOI, (Nike sasquatch Sumo2 5300 Driver) but most drivers now have some sort of system like that, all with different fancy names and slightly different ways of doing it of course!
The MOI has been increased to 5000 (hence the name) which gives you a lot of forgiveness for off-center hits, but still allows you to shape your shot if you want. The titanium face is reported to use variable thickness across it to maximise ball speed and most likely increase MOI too (by pushing weight to the perimeter), like the Variable Face Technology employed by Callaway.
Players are reporting longer, straighter drives with good control to shape it too, just like Nike promised, one drawback though is the noise, it is quite a loud club, some people are more sensitive to that than others. This is probably not the kind of driver you want to take down the driving range(Nike sasquatch sumo2 5900 Driver) unless you want your ears to bleed, but for a normal round it shouldn’t be an issue.
I like the fact you can shape your shots with this driver, most of the other drivers just concentrate purely on correcting mishits and getting everything straight, so this is a nice change.
