Nov. 3, 2010 - PRLog -- The wait is over! The newly enhanced 2011 GMC Terrain has finally made its debut at our Waxahachie Buick GMC Dealer. For drivers seeking a smaller crossover SUV with a reasonable price tag, this 2011 GMC Terrain is perfectly designed for them. Designed to provide comfort for passengers, the GM’s MulitFlex rear seat can slide up to 8 inches fore and aft to maximize leg or cargo room. Similar to the 2010 model, the 2011 Terrain remained unchanged with the up to five people seating.

Available with two engine options, the GMC 2011 Terrain offers a 2.4 liter-four cylinder engines and a 3.0 liter DOHC six cylinder option. Both the 2.4 and 3 liter engines use direct injection along with a six speed automatic transmission. The 2.4 has 182 horsepower while the 3.0 has 264 hp V6.

GM introduces the first application of ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) on the 2.4L-equipped models to enable better fuel economy by allowing lower engine idle RPMS. The purpose of ANC is to ensure a quiet driving experience for drivers as well as passengers. The Active Noise Cancellation uses microphones to detect objectionable harmonics inside the vehicle and sends counteracting sound waves through the audio system’s speakers. The 2011 Terrain comes with different trim levels. The basic level will include features such as air conditioning, trip computer, and rearview camera integrated with rearview mirror.  Other options like power accessories, powered front seats and rear window defogger are also included in the basic level trim package.

Safety features include front and side airbags, side curtain airbags, and stability control. The V6 contains hydraulic power while the steering for the I-4 is electronic power. The 2011 Terrain offers a remote for the vehicle start that can be used to automatically adjust the inside temperature of the Terrain on a cold or hot morning, very beneficial during winter season.

Drivers will now have a large enough screen to safely view at glance with a seven-inch touch screen navigation system. The navigation system includes touch-screen controls that are within reach to ensure driver’s safety.


The entertainment system features a DVD-based rear-seat entertainment with two independent screens and inputs. The two independent screens and inputs allow one viewer to watch a movie while the other to play video games. It can come very handy for a family with kids. Additional entertainment features include wireless headphones for front seat passengers to listen to their own entertainment selection up front. The audio system uses six speakers. The standard XRM Radio features has more than 179 channels with commercial free music, news, sports, kids, and other entertain content. Satellite radio, CD player, with Graphic Interface Display and Radio Data system are also included in the entertainment system.
