After claiming the NSW Formula Vee Championship at the same event two years ago Adam was forced to call on all his experience as monsoonal rain made the circuit almost un-drivable.

Qualifying under bright sunny skies Proctor punched out a blinding lap time late in the twenty minute session to line up third, though a bad start once racing got underway dropped him down the order.

Having never driven the car in wet conditions, Proctor called on every ounce of skill to keep the Fabcrete Lincspeed on the track while rivals spun at almost every corner. With conditions constantly changing every turn of the wheel was adventure into the unknown, Proctor excelling in the treacherous conditions, climbing his way back to 11th place, having fallen to 14th at the start.

Though a long way from his qualifying spot it was enough to seal victory in the NSW Sports and Racing Championship, claiming the Class 3 championship after dominating the latter part of the season.

Even with the championship assured the weather refused to ease for the second and third races. More progress for Adam saw his black Lincspeed closing on the 8th placed Tony Palmer in the closing stages of Race 2, the Radical driver saved only by the chequered flag as the charging Proctor loomed in his mirrors.

A good start in the final race saw Adam among the leaders, excelling in the difficult conditions to finish fourth. It was a strong drive against more exotic competition, the self-prepared Lincspeed in the hands of Proctor once again proved itself capable of matching all comers.

With the championship in his pocket and the season over Adam now takes a much needed break ahead of another competitive season in 2011. With a twelve months more knowledge and experience Adam Proctor is certain to be a contender.

“To achieve what we have this year I think it’s the most satisfying year I’ve had since I started racing,” says Adam of his hugely successful 2010 campaign. “We’ve been able to get us a car that we never ever expected to do what it’s done; winning races outright and beating some of the best cars you can by off the showroom floor.”

After a tough weekend Adam was still enthusiastic about his performance. “We won our championship, which was the main aim, but we were also looking to get some more speed out of the car, but the weather hindered us there.

“We still qualified well, but through the races we had some start line issues - we stalled in one race, and that really put us behind the whole weekend. With the limited amount of laps we got due to incidents on the track it was really hard to make that time up. By the end of the last race we got a good three or four laps to chase down the guys in front, and got up to first in class and fourth outright, which we’re really happy with considering the weekend we’ve had.
With his first class championship sewn up, Adam’s focus for 2011 now turns to the outright title. “We’ll see if we stay with what we’ve got, we’ve definitely got a good package, or if we look at upgrading to one of the newer cars which should move us even further up the grid,” he explains. “In the next few months we’ll decide what to do, and if anyone comes onboard and helps support us to do something better we’ll always jump at it!”
