Volunteers Needed for Conejo Valley YMCA's Sixth Annual "Turkey Day Dash"

The Conejo Valley YMCA is hosting its sixth annual Turkey Day Dash on Thanksgiving morning, November 25, and needs volunteers to assist with the event that typically draws more than 1,600 runners and walkers.
 
Oct. 11, 2010 - PRLog -- THOUSAND OAKS, CALIF.--The Conejo Valley YMCA is hosting its sixth annual Turkey Day Dash on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 25, and needs volunteers to assist with the event that typically draws more than 1,600 runners and walkers. The 5k run/walk and 1k family fun run/walk will be at The Oaks Shopping Center (350 West Hillcrest Dr., Thousand Oaks).

   "Volunteers can sign up for specific activities and times," says Patrick Yarrow, Conejo Y's associate executive director. "Depending on the activity, volunteers can be finished as early as 7:00 a.m. on event day. All shifts will be completed by 11:30 a.m."

   Volunteers are needed for set up, check in/registration, course marshaling (to ensure runners and walkers stay on course), clean up, post race reception hosting and start/finish line monitoring. About 135 volunteers are needed.
