Oct. 3, 2010 - PRLog -- Twice is Nice for Armchair Generals Music at Viento y Agua

Music lovers who prefer live concerts in intimate settings with eclectic vibes have met their match with the Armchair Generals. Friday, October 15, the band will hit the Viento y Agua Coffeehouse stage once again for a one-hour performance of lush down-tempo, electronic grooves, and soulful house music beginning at 8:30 p.m. The independent band from Long Beach will offer an electrifying set of their current alluring beats and soulful vocals, plus a special preview of new music to come. Viento y Agua Coffeehouse is located at 4007 East 4th Street Long Beach, CA 90814. This event is free and open to the public.

Following one month after their much-talked-about performance at the SolShock produced “Virgo Birthday Bash”, the Armchair Generals anticipate an exciting night with a hype crowd and new fans.

“Viento is a fun stage to play and when musicians are having fun, unexpected things can happen,” said Ray Comer, aka Bebo 6, drummer and producer. “We’ll definitely surprise folks with some new songs added to the set and some special guest performances…a very entertaining set,” added Comer. “I’m not playing when I say the AG’s will be serving heat on Oct 15th.”

The Armchair Generals continue to achieve their mission of winning attention. Their uptempo house tune, “Way Out”, will be included in the October 2010 “What Is Good Music” compilation CD produced by Fusicology, the self-proclaimed “Hub for Progressive Events, Music & Culture”. Along with their recent online interview with Nu-Soul Magazine, and airplay of “Starship Bixby 6060”on KCRW, the support from this prominent marketing entity that promotes independent music catapults Armchair Generals to new heights.

Their following is strong with word-of-mouth marketing and they’ve garnered firm support from local media, businesses, and artist collectives such as Gazette Newspapers, LB Post, 562 City Life, Svastha Health, Everyday Zen Relaxation Studio, LBCreative!, and more. The band has participated in past First Fridays Long Beach events and community endeavors such as the Shakti Shala Yoga Festival and February’s artist response and Haiti benefit, Carnival del Corazon. The Armchair Generals have participated in various student union events at California State University, Long Beach and hold several production credits. Fans can look forward to collaborations with local singer-songwriters and new music in 2011.

The Armchair Generals are an unsigned, independent band from Long Beach, officially founded in 2006. Since then, the AG’s have made it their mission to win attention and captivate music lovers with their infectious Soul/Electronic/Down-Tempo/Progressive House sound. Released in May 2010 and described by the band as “flavors of Down tempo/Soul, Ambient & Progressive House”, their self-titled EP, The Armchair Generals, contains nearly 20 minutes of pulsating drums, funky baselines, sultry keys, mesmerizing vocals and contagious melodies.
