The Sweet Treat Company launches the Taste of Home campaign!

On the 6th May 2010 we received an email from a military base in Kandahar, Afghanistan. The email came from a corporal in the aircraft engineering unit on behalf of 150 serving soldiers.
The soldiers explained that something they truly missed whilst fighting aboard for six months was good British sweets. One solider stated how the range of sweets available to them was very poor and how good British sweets help to raise morale and provide comfort for the troops in difficult times: It is a comforting  thought for a soldier to reach into his pocket and un-wrap a sweet when he is  exhausted or home sick.

Consequently, earlier this year The Sweet Treat Company sent 200 free bags of sweets to the servicemen and women in Afghanistan, to raise morale and give the troops a true taste of home when they most needed it The Sweet Treat Company is now launching The Taste of Home campaign, giving you the chance to support our troops too!

There are two ways to get involved

1. Simply choose the sweets you would like to send on our website www.TheSweetTreatco.co.uk . Then, at the checkout enter discount code BFPO and enter the postal address as ‘The Taste of Home Campaign’ and The Sweet Treat Company will send your chosen sweets to members of the British armed forces in Afghanistan free of charge on your behalf- It is also possible to send these to a particular serviceman or woman by stating their BFPO address
2. To help promote the cause, for every £15 spent on the website The Sweet Treat Company will donate a free 200g bag of sweets. These will be sent on a weekly basis to Afghanistan.
