Sept. 24, 2010 - PRLog -- Car buyers have very high expectations of what an entry-level model should offer today. Nobody understands that better than Hyundai, a point that the 2010 Accent makes quite emphatically.

The Accent GLS four-door also offers a touch of elegance you don’t see in other compacts; choose the Wine Red exterior color, and you can select the distinctive beige/black two-tone interior. It’s a classy combination, and it’s a level of attention to detail that you just don’t see in other compacts. http://www.kennykenthyundai.com

The Hyundai Accent is the very definition of an honest value. When you see the MSRP of $14,645 for the GLS four-door with an automatic transmission, for example, you won’t suddenly see it jump to 17 grand with a few option packages. Not even close. In fact, if you want features like the 60/40-split fold-down rear seatback, AM/FM/XM/CD/MP3 audio system with auxiliary iPod/USB inputs, driver and passenger illuminated vanity mirrors and air conditioning, you don’t pay extra – they’re all included as standard.

For added safety and comfort, the available GLS Premium Package adds antilock brakes (ABS), a tilt steering wheel, cruise control, power windows, mirrors and door locks, plus steering wheel audio controls and remote keyless entry with alarm and panic alert. The MSRP of this loaded Accent GLS four-door is just $15,415.

All Accent models are powered by a smooth-running 110-hp engine, which gets you where you want to go with zip while sipping gas. In fact, for 2010, Accent delivers better fuel economy than the 2009 models thanks to lower-friction engine components, aerodynamic enhancements and lower rolling-resistance tires. Even the electrical system is smarter to reduce draw on the engine. Fuel economy with the automatic transmission is an impressive 27 mpg city/36 mpg highway. http://www.kennykenthyundai.com

There are three different versions of the three-door Accent including the high-fuel-economy Accent Blue, the well-equipped GLS and the sporty SE. Before getting to those, let’s have a look at what makes the Accent tick.

If you really want to reduce your auto costs, consider the new-for-2010 Accent Blue edition. This is a special version of the three-door that also achieves the 27/36 mpg ratings, but with a five-speed manual transmission. A lowered ride height helps the Accent Blue to cheat the wind even more than other Accent models.

You may have heard of other brands charging more for specialized high-mpg models. Hyundai does things differently. The 2010 Accent Blue is the lowest-priced Accent model, just $10,970 for the version with air conditioning. Rest assured, the Accent Blue is no “stripper.” Dual front, side and head-curtain airbags are standard, as are sport-tuned power steering, variable intermittent windshield wipers, a six-way adjustable driver’s seat with armrest, 60/40-split fold-down rear seatback, a rear spoiler and rear window defroster. Want amenities like adjustable head restraints for all seating positions, cabin air filtration, tachometer, digital clock and two 12-volt outlets? They’re all standard.

At the top of the Accent line, there’s a sporty ride called the SE three-door. For its $16,195 MSRP, the SE piles on the features and adds more fun to the mix. You certainly won’t feel like you’re in an entry-level car with sport-tuned suspension and 16-inch alloy wheels with low-profile tires. There’s also a B&M Racing sport shifter, something you’d have to buy and install on your own in other sporty compacts. To the GLS four-door’s generous standard equipment, the sporty SE adds foglights and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shiftknob.

No other brand’s compact models can match America’s Best Warranty™ on every new Hyundai including five years/60,000 miles of bumper-to-bumper coverage and a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

Terms like “basic transportation” and “entry-level” belong on other brands’ compact cars. The 2010 Hyundai Accent is a cut above – except in price. http://www.kennykenthyundai.com
