Sept. 1, 2010 - PRLog -- The SEO scene is no longer all singin’, all dancin’,  as it was in the days before social media took to the stage! Business owners still fret nervously in the wings as their online marketing team perform high steppin’  keyword routines aimed at high ranking Google reviews! But not everything you think you know because you have read all about SEO, may be necessarily true ...

Still considered the starting point for all web based  marketing strategies  to drive traffic to the max, copious information, facts and figures abound on SEO methods and performance. But it’s always worth considering just how much of this info is current or relevant to today’s changing landscape.

We already know that search engine algorithms are now functioning closer to human search sensibilities than ever before. The omnipotent Google algorithm, rapidly evolves, continually transforming itself dozens of times every year. This means that no statements about absolute ground rules for guaranteed PageRank success can be made.

Issues of main keyword and secondary keyword density and repetition which had to be applied to every page of a website were always subjective. Depending on the phrases used, some types of website could get away with higher keyword density than others. But mostly they just looked unreadable, were actually totally unintelligible, and achieved little more than turning off search engines and human visitors, alike! Any higher ranking achieved was always going to be a temporary blip!

Establishing a solid long term link building campaign strategy is now dependent more than ever on organic growth, nourished by fostering niche market, audience relationships across multiple social media (http://www.weprovoke.co.uk/social-media/) networking platforms and channels. Quality content  really is king now! Tied into targeting specific keyword phrases for the right readership within genuine, valuable and compelling info-rich content.

The approach to today’s SEO (http://www.weprovoke.co.uk/search-engine-optimisation/) is focused on keyword placement, keyword proximity and local semantic indexing (LSI),  rather than the number of times a keyword is repeated. Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) identifies patterns in the relationships between the terms and concepts contained in a text and tries to find words which are used in the same context, and which have similar meanings.

Thus, the words which are used are indexed according to how they can be used to obtain the meaning of the text in response to user queries. Search results returned will be based on being conceptually similar in meaning to the search criteria, even if the results don’t actually share a specific word or number of words with the search criteria.

Remember - it doesn’t matter how high your website is ranked for the most popular keywords and phrases in your niche, once the visitors arrive at your site, they will click away immediately unless the quality of your written content (http://www.weprovoke.co.uk/writing-content/) can compel their attention as well as Google!

And enough to want to hit the Share button, retweet, bookmarkand subscribe!
