Aug. 31, 2010 - PRLog -- Gerald “Jerry” Schappert has just become one of the few pest control professionals to achieve his Associate Certified Entomologist. He joins the ranks of Billy the Exterminator’ s, Billy Bretherton, and 349 other professionals who have worked hard to attain this achievement. While it is not the full-fledged entomologist’s degree, it is the highest standard a pest control professional can obtain short of 8 years of college. But it requires dedication, a desire to further your knowledge and credentials to even get this high achievement. So, Jerry is a hard worker! We all knew that…but did you know that this achievement is not easy? Well then read on and see how hard he has worked. http://pestcemetery.com/class-act-pest-control-industry/

Just to reach an ace achievement requires these essential and necessary things, a minimum of 7 years of verifiable pest management experience, a current pesticide applicator's license, and the ability to pass a test of your knowledge of structural pest control. The ACE exam is rigorous and should not to be taken lightly. It is designed to test practicing pest management professionals on the practical aspects of applied entomology.  The categories covered in the exam are: basic entomology, identification, life cycles, and practical control measures for important structural pests, health impacts of pests, ecological principles pertaining to pest control, environmental impacts related to pest control, integrated pest management (IPM) principles, pesticide safety and health issues, pesticide technology, resources organizations and associations of significance to the pest control industry, laws and regulations affecting the industry. http://pestcemetery.com/

Now after all that you’re wondering, “Why get certified?” Well try these for example, the person that has their A.C.E. certification like Jerry has the skills right? Well how about better visibility, better opportunities, and in this world credentials are everything.  So raise your milk glass and cheer Jerry and the other 349 A.C.E.’s out there. They sure deserve it. http://pestcemetery.com/5-days-billy-exterminator/
