Aurcade and Stella's Lounge host Classic Video Game Olympics during the month of September

Aug. 30, 2010 - PRLog -- Stella’s Lounge and Aurcade are hosting the first annual Classic Video Game Olympics in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The Classic Video Game Olympics consists of two rounds of tournaments.  The first round, the Qualifying Round, takes place Sept. 1 through 15 and consists of 16 games for players to compete in.  Each player’s 10 highest scores will count towards a qualifying ranking.  The top 10 local players will move on to the Final Round.

The Final Round takes place September 17 through 19 and consists of 13 games for competition.  Details on scoring for the event are available on Aurcade’s website: http://www.aurcade.com

Aurcade officials will be on hand during the Final Round to certify all scores and oversee the tournament. The Aurcade Tournament System (ATS) will be used to track the leaders during the Final Round.

The player with the highest point total at the end of the tournament wins. Prizes will be awarded to the top three winners as follows:
First place: $500
Second place: $250
Third place: $100

The games lineup is "Stellar" (no pun intended) and the large prize money package that is being offered will undoubtedly attract some of the top players in the sport,” said Eric Akeson, Aurcade's Head of Officiating “With the Aurcade Tournament System (ATS) being utilized, along with worldwide streaming of the entire contest via the internet, this tournament is set to be one of 2010's most memorable events".

Aurcade will be hosting live streaming of the event as well as a dedicated Event Page for this and future events.
