Aug. 12, 2010 - PRLog -- LOS ANGELES, Calif. – EarthKare™ Packaging Innovations Co. announces the availability of the EarthKare Kup™, a hot and cold disposable beverage container that can replace today’s beverage cup and lid combination with a single integrated container.  The Kup’s revolutionary design, in which both the cup and the lid are a single unit, represents the first significant change in the way beverages are served in single-use disposable cups in over a century.  Locking securely into place, the lid also easily opens for customers to add the ingredients that make their beverages uniquely their own.

The EarthKare Kup is part of a line of “green” foodservice products that are engineered to withstand the rigors of restaurant take-out service, while being priced comparably to similar petroleum-based products.  EarthKare enables virtually any culinary enterprise to make ‘green’ a promise to the planet - and to the business’ bottom-line.

According to data from the EPA, disposable, petroleum-based foodservice items make up 10.5% of our nation’s waste by weight and can take up to 10,000 years to dissolve.  Research indicates that in 2010, Americans will use more than 50 billion hot and cold beverage cups.
