Save St Ursulas School - Bristol

Aug. 9, 2010 - PRLog -- As you may or may not be aware ST Ursulas School has been put into administration leaving nearly 230 children without a school to attend in September. Bristol City Council have refused to deal with this issue and refused to find places for any of the children before the new school year starts. The government, administrators and everyone have washed their hands of this school but WE WILL NOT LET THIS SCHOOL CLOSE.

PROTECT ARRANGED FOR 4PM TUESDAY 10TH AUGUST OUTSIDE ST URSULAS SCHOOL, WESTBURY PUON TRYM, BRISTOL.  Protesters - 1000+. The children of this school will also be there.

St Ursulas is a school like no other. It is an independent school but you would be amazed at the passion, dedication and sheer touch this school has on the Bristol Community and has had since the 19th Century. The school has been here through the last THREE centuries and it provides an outstanding yet caring and nurturing education to those of society who need it most – those children with special needs that the Council fail, those children of society who will become the leaders of the future but who cannot afford a private education, receive free scholarships and bursaries to allow them to achieve their goals. This is NOT just another private school, this is part of Bristol and unlike any other independent school they cater for all the children in Bristol that other independent schools will not touch. We cannot let this school go and the ST Ursulas Parents Action Group is imploring you to offer your help and cover this story.

In 3 days we have managed to raise nearly £400,000 through parents kind donations and an individual from the community who has pledged £300,000 to help save St Ursulas. We are getting huge press coverage from all forms of media including ITV and the BBC but we need your help to save this wonderful and amazing school.

We need to raise £2m and in order to do this as the Government, the Council and even the Administrators are refusing to help and the stories from the parents and children are truly heart wrenching.

The parents of this school are not the “Super Rich” of Bristol and we cannot save this school on our own but you can help put something huge back into the community and win the admiration of the whole region. If you could only see the passion the whole of Bristol has for St Ursulas you would realise that this school MUST survive – with your help it can.
