FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul 28, 2010 -
The UK’s leading cosmetic treatment review website, http://www.goodsurgeonguide.co.uk has commissioned research to discover which celebrities Brits think have aged gracefully, as well as which celebrities they think have aged badly.

The study of 1,281 people was commissioned by http://www.goodsurgeonguide.co.uk to discover if celebrities that have undergone cosmetic treatments are viewed as more attractive when it comes to the ageing process than those who haven’t had any surgical enhancements.

Vanessa Feltz has topped the poll of celebrities that have aged badly, with 68% of the respondents agreeing. Phillip Schofield is not known for having cosmetic surgery; however 66% of those polled believe he has aged well.

According to the study by http://www.goodsurgeonguide.co.uk, the top 10 celebrities that the respondents think have ‘aged badly’ are;

1.       Vanessa Feltz– 68%
2.       Fern Britton– 64%
3.       Mickey Rourke – 59%
4.       Keith Richards – 57%
5.       Janice Dickinson – 51%
6.       Jimmy Saville – 48%
7.       Jo Brand – 46%
8.       Ronnie woods  – 42%
9.       Ruby Wax  – 39%
10.   Carole McGiffin– 37%

When subsequently asked the multi-answer question, ‘which of the following celebrities do you think have aged well?’ the top ten results were as follows;

1.       Phillip Schofield  – 66%
2.       Elle Macpherson– 64%
3.       Jonathan Ross  – 61%
4.       Gary Lineker - 57%
5.       Samantha Fox  – 54%
6.       Gary Barlow– 51%
7.       Arlene Phillips– 49%
8.       Lorraine Kelly – 47%
9.       Gordon Ramsay – 46%
10.   Stephanie Beacham – 42%

32% of the respondents cited that Mickey Rourke has ‘gained too much weight’ while 19% said he ‘dresses badly’.  In contrast, 29% believe that Fern Britton has aged baldy because she is now ‘too skinny’ and a further 14% say it is because she ‘dresses younger than her age’.

23% agree that Gary Lineker is more attractive as a middle aged man than when he was in his twenties and 47% think Lorraine Kelly has grown old with ‘grace’.

More than 1 in 3, 34% of the people asked agree that cosmetic surgery improves the appearance of middle-aged people and a further 46% hope to have cosmetic treatments to prevent the affect old age has on their appearance.

Christiana Clogg, founder of http://www.goodsurgeonguide.co.uk has said the following;
“These results have a great mixture of celebrities that have had cosmetic treatments and those that haven’t.  For example, Janice Dickinson is extremely well known for going under the knife however Elle Macpherson keeps her beauty regime under wraps.”

She continues,

“I certainly agree with the 66% that think Phillip Schofield has aged well; he is a very attractive man and manages to look great with a variety of styles.  In contrast, Fern Britton has perhaps gone too far with her weight loss and as a result her skin is looser which gives the impressions of wrinkles.”

Notes to editors

Goodsurgeonguide.co.uk was launched in September 2009 and is the first website of its kind; users can visit the website to read or provide reviews and recommendations of cosmetic surgeons, cosmetic dentists, clinics and aesthetic treatment providers.

An ideal way to describe the website would be to compare it to TripAdvisore.com, however The Good Surgeon Guide allows people to leave reviews of cosmetic treatments, rather than holidays. Reviews can be left about any aspect of the procedure from the cleanliness of the practice to the aftercare, the quality of the food to the standard of the consultations.

The Good Surgeon Guide should be the first port of call for anyone considering a cosmetic treatment or procedure, as it offers inside knowledge from people who have already had surgery and this is key in helping others make an informed choice about where to go and who to turn to for their procedure.
