"Singing Star Texas" Vocal Competition

July 19, 2010 - PRLog -- Spring, TX -  The Tom McKinney Vocal Studios & Entertainment Arts Project will present the "Singing Star Texas" vocal competition beginning Aug.1 thru Aug. 15. A series of preliminary rounds (Aug. 1, 2 & 8) will select 25 finalists for the final competition on Aug. 15, at the nationally acclaimed Dosey Doe's, located at 25911 I-45 North in The Woodlands, TX, 77380.

This is not a karaoke competition; no monitors will be used. Singers can sing with the use of an instrument...either guitar or piano. Exceptions must be approved by the Tom McKinney Vocal Studio. Call 281-367-SING (7464). Singers cannot be accompanied by additional musicians or bands.

The Grand Prize will include $2000 prize money, a live recording of three original songs at Dosey Doe, booked for an opening act for a scheduled headliner at Dosey Doe's, and interviewed for the "Real Life Real Music" radio show. The 1st Runner-Up will receive $500 cash and perform at a 'Special Singers' night at Dosey Doe's; 2nd Runner-Up will also receive a 'Special Singers' night performance.
