July 12, 2010 - PRLog -- Small businesses, has a personality and  flavor  . And when it comes to what you put on your website : Don't be afraid to tout your smallness.
Small businesses can have more fun with their sites,Reflects the creativity and personality of its owner.People want character ; it has meaning

Customers want to know who you are and, if you lead a team, who is on it and what they do.
When there is nothing [on your site] about who you are or who's on your team, people wonder about whether you are a good company to buy from.

Things customers want to know:

**"Who are you?" as interestingly and compellingly (and honestly) as possible.
This includes writing management bios that mention your expertise, years of experience and any unique attributes or details
that may set you apart from others.
But You Don't need to write a novel.

**A clear sense of what your company offers
It's incredible how many sites you visit and you're not sure what the company offers
Many service-oriented companies are concerned about divulging too much information about their offerings, for for fear of the competition....
Some also feel that consumers will have no reason to contact them by phone if they get all they need from the website.
However, this is the very cause for a customer to move on because the information is missing.
**** In this particular item, I always had issue with because Intellius or USsearch does the virtually the same thing cheaper, Except that they have "Add-ons" and other ( shall we say ) "issues" that I do not agree a customer should deal with....so actually , when I throw an Ad on Google or something, I KNOW that regardless of the Dollar ore two difference, the customer is getting quality service that they wanted, nothing extra to off-set a lower cost.

**Contact information, including a phone number and physical location
This may seem like a no-brainer, but many companies are purposely vague about their location. Some prefer to do all of their business online and see no need to publish an address or phone number.

**Potential customers indeed want to know who you do business with, and what current customers have to say about their experiences. Such items "forge the underpinnings of trust,"

** If people can't find it,They Can't Buy it :
keeping sites "crisp, clean, and easy to navigate," but also for site owners to study traffic and usage patterns to adjust their sites based on what visitors are coming for.

** Guidance
Let customers know important things such as how to order--and where to go and what to do should something happen out of the ordinary.
**** Take for Instance, I have a Java Jump that opens a new trab with a FAQ page on another webite, however, if the customer is on a priviledged computer, the Java Jump will not work for them because Library computers/ school, etc are set up to block many actions:
I have a Place-Holder page that explains what the new tab was up to and why they still want to continue to go check out that address.

*** Encourage feedback about your products and services, your ordering process and your site in general, by providing a feedback mechanism--either feedback forms or e-mail links.

****Customers want signs
The Road Map to Buy it Now or Find out the price : Right Now.
"Buy now" or "Sign up for our newsletter" or "Click here for more information."
But many small-business sites don't provide calls to action or they don't present them clearly enough.
*** I once put "Sale" signs on Everything at my Uncle's shop the day after Thanksgiving , because I was told that people expected sales that day:
I did NOT change the price ( I was never told that part) But I did sell everything I put the signs on that week.

*** By personalizing a sale with a special offer, incentive or coupon, small businesses can gain an edge.
" Buy 50 Magnetic Stickers and get  This Adhesive removal spray FREE " ( this Gorilla Key Chain.whatever )
