June 9, 2010 - PRLog -- Atlanta Georgia, June 9, 2010.  In order to aid in emergency roof repair and restoration in Oklahoma, an Atlanta roofer has relocated teams of specialists to the Oklahoma City region.  Since the area was devastated by recent storms, there has been a severe shortage of roofers and restoration services there.

“Oklahomans have been hit twice in one month; first by tornado strength winds, and then by hail storms.  There simply aren’t enough roofers and restoration services to go around.  Many homeowners and commercial building owners are still unable to get their roof, water damage, mold, windows and siding damage fixed. So we amassed teams of professionals and resettled them there to aid in the reconstruction efforts,” said Galloway.

He added that the kind of roofing damage from the back-to-back storms is significant, and only gets worse the longer it goes unfixed. “Falling branches will punch holes straight through outer shingles, sub-roofing materials and plywood framing.  A six inch diameter hole will allow rain to pour in.  Covering it with a plastic tarp won’t keep all the moisture out.  God forbid another windstorm whips up and yanks off the plastic.  These home and business owners need relief, but the local roofing companies are stretched too thin.  We wanted to provide a fresh supply of repair professionals.”

“In addition, hail will dent and scour roofing materials, causing them to leak immediately.  It breaks glass, opens siding to leaks, and can be as much of an emergency as wind damage.”

Galloway points out that his Atlanta firm specializes in repairing and restoring roofing that has been damaged, and so he had built a roster of professional crews with experience assessing and fixing roofing efficiently.
“These guys feel good about going to Oklahoma and helping out.  They’ve seen it all, so they can quickly assess the damage and get going on it.  For a homeowner with a weather emergency, there is no better sight than men on the roof taking care of them.”

Galloway said he has dispatched crews who will perform both exterior and interior repairs that are common after a storm.  They are proficient with the industrial drying machines needed to dry out homes that suffered water damage, and can install windows, replacement siding and will even repaint.

“The last thing these home and business owners need, after waiting so long for help, is to have to search for contractors to do each of the jobs restoration requires.  The teams we sent have all of the necessary expertise.  I suspect they will be working extra hard, because those folks in Oklahoma have been through so much.”
