Follow on Google News | 67% Of Men Prefer Women In Gym Outfits Over GlamourA new study has revealed that just over two thirds, 67%, of men prefer women dressed for the gym than dressed for a night out; with a quarter also preferring their partners to ditch makeup for the ‘natural’ approach.
By: Emma Kent http://www.MyCelebrityFashion.co.uk decided to commission the research when it noticed an increase in men shopping for partners on its site. A sample of 1,125 men aged 18-35 were subsequently polled, asking questions that surrounded their relationship with women’s fashion. When asked the multi-answer question, “which clothing ‘look’ are you most attracted to on a woman?” the results were as follows: 1) ‘The Gym Look’ (athletic clothing, minimal make-up)- 67% 2) ‘The Office Look’ (professional clothing, heels, natural make-up) – 51% 3) ‘The Girly Look’ (feminine dress, natural hair and make-up) – 39% 4) ‘The Girls Night Out Look’ (provocative outfit, heavy make-up, styled hair)- 24% 5) ‘The High Fashion Look’ (catwalk clothing, heavily styled)- 15% Of the 67% who chose ‘The Gym Look’ as their favourite, almost half, 48%, of men said this was because they preferred women in a more relaxed style of clothing. A further 23% of these explained that it was because they liked women in minimal make-up. Two thirds, 64%, admitted that they found the look ‘very sexy,’ with just over one in ten, 11%, also admitting to having had a relationship with a woman they had met at their local gym. When asked what they thought of women in “high fashion;” three fifths, 59%, of the men polled stated that they generally ‘disliked’ One of the most notable results from the study was that the top three most attractive “looks” described women with subtle make-up, or none at all. This was echoed in further questions to the men polled, as when asked the question “do you prefer your partner with or without make-up on?” 31% replied “without.” A further 48% of those polled expressed their discontent surrounding how women dress for a “girl’s night out,” stating “yes” when asked the question, “do you think women overdress on nights out?” Of those who answered “yes” one fifth thought that women wore too much make-up, with 58% claiming they thought that the “night out” look was too revealing. Andy Barr, Marketing Director of http://www.MyCelebrityFashion.co.uk, commented on the findings: “To me, it wasn’t surprising that men would be more attracted to the laid back “gym look” on women. Despite the latest fashion trends being seen as a thing of envy amongst women, men usually appreciate girls who have a more ‘natural’ approach to fashion as they appear, to many, more approachable. “I think this research is good news for women everywhere. No longer do you have to worry about a lack of make-up or wearing your sweats in public, as the majority of men will prefer you this way anyway!
