June 8, 2010 - PRLog -- Raleigh, NC  - Members of the Woman’s Club of Raleigh will gather for their general meeting and luncheon on June 9th to hear Dr. Lisa Tolnitch, founder of Pretty In Pink Foundation, discuss “The Status of the Uninsured in North Carolina.”

Margot Murphy, President of the Woman’s Club of Raleigh, a 106 year old organization, announced that breast cancer related initiatives will be the primary focus for the Woman’s Club of Raleigh during the next 2 years under her leadership. “We will be wholeheartedly supporting the work of Pretty In Pink Foundation, a nonprofit organization that helps underinsured and uninsured people diagnosed with breast cancer. Their work in communities across North Carolina is impressive and we are eager to help in their growth efforts.” Murphy remarked.

Dr. Lisa Tolnitch, a local breast cancer surgeon who saw many breast cancer patients struggling to pay the costs associated with fighting cancer, decided to do something about it; and Pretty In Pink Foundation was formed. “To date, Pretty In Pink foundation has served a variety of health and quality of life needs for nearly 300 women in North Carolina; women whose lives have been turned upside down by this devastating disease.  It is a privilege to speak to this incredible group of committed women.” Tolnitch concluded.

Information about attending the June 9th luncheon event is available at the Woman’s Club of Raleigh website http://www.WomansClubOfRaleigh.org, or call (919) 782-5599 for details.
