Our Heritage Magazine Online-a publication promoting cultural awareness of African-American heritage

The original printed version of Our Heritage Magazine was published for 6 years and included articles on leaders such as Bernard Harris and Maya Angelou. The Premiere Issue of Our Heritage Magazine Online will appear on June 19, 2010. Subscribe now.

June 6, 2010 - PRLog -- Our Heritage Magazine Online will debut with a feature article on the Rev. Ronald V. Myers, Sr., MD, the Founder and Chair of the National Juneteenth Holiday Campaign.  This issue will also include an editorial on "What is Heritage" and articles on the history of Juneteenth and celebrations around the country.

We will continue our practice of spotlighting great public figures in African-American history, shining a light on the plain and ordinary ancestors of American Blacks, and raising public awareness of African-American heritage and the valuable contributions made to society over the past centuries.

Planned feature articles include a “Where are they now?” piece on the Tuskegee Airmen as well as a regular column featuring the heroes of the early 20th century – those who have reached the ages of 80, 90, and 100. Readers will have the opportunity to nominate both the famous and those special folks who have done great things in their lives that may not be so well known.

The Our Heritage Magazine Online will be available for digital subscription and the website will feature ongoing news, events, and people of modern American society.
