Chelene Nightingale at ALIPAC TEA Party Rally in San Diego, CA 11/14/2009
Already touted as being the "wildcard" in California's Gubernatorial sweepstakes in November, the darling of the Tea Party movement, Chelene Nightingale, received another boost today, when it was announced that she has swept the field of California Governor candidates in the survey conducted by "NUMBERSUSA,"
The results of the NUMBERSUSA survey may be found at: http://www.numbersusa.com/
Ms. Nightingale commended NUMBERSUSA for "pulling away the veneer of campaign 'hype and hyperbole' and giving the voters the truth about where candidates really stand on the critical issues concerning Illegal Immigration, amnesty and border security. Hopefully, it will now be clear to Californians why America's foremost spokesman for border security, former Congressman Tom Tancredo, has enthusiastically endorsed our campaign for Governor of California in 2010."
Since the spring of 2005, Chelene Nightingale has been politically active in voicing opposition to both amnesty and open borders. Over the past few years, Ms. Nightingale has organized many street rallies and marches to defend our nation’s security. Her dedicated work in these and other areas brought her to the attention of American Independent Party leaders and activists in California, as well as Constitution Party leaders nationwide, all of whom urged Chelene to run for Governor of California. As a result, Chelene Nightingale is the "Constitution Party endorsed" candidate for the American Independent Party's 2010 nomination for Governor of California (www.NightingaleForGovernor.com)
Since announcing her candidacy at a border security event at the California/Mexican border on July 4, 2009 Nightingale's commitment to stopping illegal immigration, opposing amnesty and securing our borders has remained steadfast. As a result, she has garnered the endorsements of many in the secured borders movement including Barbara Coe (Co-author of Prop 187), the San Diego Minutemen, Joseph Turner, Tony Dolz, Al Garza, Luca Zanna, Ruthie Hendrycks, Frosty Wooldridge, Neil Turner (Christians For Secured Borders), and former Presidential Candidate Tom Tancredo.
Recently, Nightingale strongly, enthusiastically and publicly endorsed the new Arizona law, SB1070, while other California gubernatorial candidates, such as Steve Poizner and Meg Whitman, were seemingly sticking their fingers in the air, testing which way the public opinion winds were blowing. Since the enactment of SB1070, the Nightingale has continued to be vocal in the media and public in support of the Arizona bill and her campaign has experienced a significant increase in visibility and public support.
Tomorrow, Saturday, June 5, Chelene Nightingale will be one of the featured speakers addressing the Phoenix Rising Rally http://www.phoenixrally.com/
