June 4, 2010 - PRLog -- Einztein (www.einztein.com), a non-profit online education search guide, announces the public beta of a high quality, multi-subject collection of courses that have been curated by an editorial team of PhD resident scholars for quality and relevance. Einztein offers more than 2000 complete online courses from over 100 providers that have been categorized into 35+ subject areas and reviewed by scholars with subject matter expertise.

With courses offered in a variety of media, Einztein does the heavy lifting of cataloguing and indexing the courses into a searchable library. Only complete courses are included in the guide, whether that be a semester long class on physics or a three lecture series on 17th century art history. Courses must also meet requirements for quality and relevance, based on: (1) subject area, (2) language, (3) provider, (4) materials, (5) objectivity, (6) completeness, and (7) accessibility.

"Search engines have inherent limitations when it comes to filtering content and discovering useful academic courses, and these shortcomings aren't being adequately addressed elsewhere," said Marco Masoni, CEO of Einztein. "This is why we’ve taken up the task of applying our team's academic expertise to exclusively selecting courses that meet a quality threshold based on what learners are looking for when they initiate an online search."

Einztein has simplified the search for online courses by offering an easy to use search box and subject browsing. Users can filter by course provider, subject matter, tags, media type and browse course descriptions. Course ratings are also available.

In addition to the online search guide, Einztein is developing a larger Einztein Knowledge Network, comprising a suite of online social tools that allows learners and professors to communicate and share their online publications, research, and discussions. The editorial team of resident scholars will continue playing a vital role as the site grows to include these educational networking tools. The Einztein Knowledge Network will be introduced in late 2010.
