June 3, 2010 - PRLog -- “Shape Sensation” - the new design challenge for young designers in the third year of the worldwide lingerie design competition

Wednesday evening saw the atrium of Palladium Mall at High Street Pheonix bustle with excitement as young contestants gathered together to prove their mettle at the Triumph Inspiration Award 2010. Triumph International - World’s leading lingerie and shape wear brand successfully competed the 3rd year of this Worldwide Lingerie Design Contest that had the theme “Shape Sensation”. International Models walked the ramp in designs created by upcoming talent from all over the Country.

This was the first of its kind Lingerie Fashion Show ever held in an open atrium in a Mall. The International design contest of highest calibre was judged by Mr. Thorsten Allenstein, MD - Triumph International, India & SriLanka along with eminent personalities from the world of Fashion viz.: Meher Castelino - Former Miss India Winner and a leading fashion consultant; Neeta Lulla - Leading Fashion designer; Babita Malkani - Fashion Designer & Anita Dongre - The lady behind the brand 'AND'. The winning designs from 29 countries will then need to impress a prestigious international jury at the grand final, this year held in the fashion metropolis of London, as well as the worldwide online community at www.triumph-inspiration-award.com.

The Triumph Inspiration Award 2010 saw upcoming talent from across the Country take centre stage interpreting the design theme “Shape Sensation”, with their multinational view of shapes and silhouettes. This year, for the first time, a one-piece was made instead of only a two-piece bra and briefs, but the big goal remained the same: the young designers must win over the jury with the inspiration and creativity of their unique showpiece. This year the prestigious Award was won by Ms. Yadvi Aggarwal from Pearl Academy of fashion followed by 1st runner up Ms. Sneha Advani from WLC and the 2nd runner up Ms. Shradha Grover from Pearl Academy of fashion.

In India, Triumph kicked off the contest in mid of February. Participants, in final year of their curriculum from leading Fashion Schools like National Institute of Fashion Technology, National School of Design, Pearl Academy, JD School of Art, SNDT, Raffles School of Design and Wigan and Leigh College showed overwhelming response. Triumph had showcased the short listed products in their stores around a month before the ramp walk.
“Shaping women with lingerie that brings out the best in them while praising and encouraging their uniqueness is at the core of our business. We are excited to see which facets of shape fascinate young creatives from across the world”, says Suzanne McKenna, Triumph’s Global Brand Manager.

Mr. Thorsten Allenstein, MD - Triumph International, India & SriLanka; further added, “This contest is aimed at seeking for the most inspiring design out of the 29 countries participating in the contest. In India, seven fashion schools from across the nation have come together. This initiative is to support upcoming designers to showcase their creativity on an international platform. The winner of the national event would be allowed to showcase his/her design in London in September this year. The international winner is supported by Triumph to convert his/her design in to a commercial piece and put it in Triumph Stores all over the world. This would be an excellent launching pad for the designer winning the international finale.”

The first prize money for the international contest is 15,000 Euro, while the second and third place winners received 10,000 Euro and 5,000 Euro respectively. Along with this financial help – this Contest provided the Winners with the much necessary launch pad for a successful design career. The international winner, aided by the Triumph design team in Hong Kong, will have the unique opportunity of turning their showpiece into a commercial product, available as a limited edition at Triumph’s own stores and at specially selected outlets from September 2011.

Decision time in London
During the London Fashion Week in September 2010, the 29 national winning showpieces will be presented to an internationally renowned jury (names to be announced) at the grand final in London. All entrants will have previously qualified through national heats.

The evening was made more memorable by Food & Beverage from The Olive Bar & Kitchen; Alcohol was sponsored by Sauza Tequila, the world’s leading tequila brand owned by Beam Global Spirits & Wine Ltd. & The hair styling was done by Asif The Salon. The multiple Award winning Olive Bar and Kitchen - India’s most successful independent restaurant brand in the country made sure their chefs mesmerized the guests with mouth-watering delicacies, and the evening menu sizzled with interesting Sauza innovations. Sauza put up a fine display with its signature bar, adding that extra dash of freshness to the entire experience. The evening witnessed famous celebrities like Nita Lulla, Anita Dongre, Mehre Castilino etc who were seen enjoying delectable cocktails, offered by Sauza . These Brands together partnered with Triumph International to make this Event a grand success.
