Robert Crabtree Jr. Named Businessperson Of The Year

May 25, 2010 - PRLog -- (Milford, CT) The Milford Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday presented Robert E. Crabtree, Jr., owner of Colonial Toyota Scion, with its Milford Businessperson of the Year Award for 2009.

The Businessperson of the Year Award is the Milford Chamber of Commerce’s highest award.  It is presented yearly to honor the local businessman or businesswoman who exemplifies the Chamber’s goals of promoting business development and contributing to the community.

Additionally, Mr. Crabtree received a citation for Distinguished Service from the State Assembly for his dedication and leadership in the Connecticut business community.

“My father opened Colonial Toyota over 20 years ago in Milford and I am proud that Colonial Toyota remains an important part of the community overall and the Milford business community in particular,” said Mr. Crabtree, who purchased the dealership in 1994.

“I believe this award not only honors my humble contributions to the welfare of the community but is a constant reminder that there is still much to be done to help keep business in Milford, to help bring business to Milford and to help the entire Connecticut business community,” added Mr. Crabtree.

Mr. Crabtree graduated from Boston University in 1987.  After working in various positions with Toyota Motor Sales and the Crabtree Automotive Group Mr. Crabtree became a partner in Colonial Toyota in 1994. In 2005 Mr. Crabtree became President and CEO of Crabtree Automotive Group and Dealer Principal of Colonial Toyota in Milford.  In 2007 completed the renovation of the all new Colonial Toyota.  In addition to his business Mr. Crabtree is a member of several business associations and is active in philanthropy throughout the community.
