You can see the Chemo Duck Soup-a-Hero Cartoon Trailer and the story of Chemo Duck and Gabe on Youtube.com: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxthuUoEMVA  Animator John Salerno is honored to be a part of this project: "I had a neighbor named Neil who was about 8-years-old when I met him. He was one of the warmest, sweetest kids I ever met. He used to knock on my window when I was playing the piano and comment on my songs. One day he said: "I really like that song! And on another day I noticed that Neil was suddenly bald. His grandmother explained that Neil was getting chemotherapy. Only a few more months passed and I got the bad news from Neil's grandmother that Neil passed away. Even today thinking about this makes my throat tighten up -- twenty five years later.

I grumbled then and grumble today about how unfair the world can be, but the grumbling doesn't help anyone. Until one day, karma brought someone who never grumbles into my life: Lu Sipos. Lu's not-quite-one-year-old son, Gabe,  was diagnosed with cancer one day. She describes her experiences and feelings back then, explaining that she felt as if she didn't know what to do. Then a friend gave Gabe a stuffed animal. And that led to the creation of Chemo Duck, a way to help Gabe understand his cancer treatment and a way to reach out to other families as well."

Chemo Duck helped Mom explain everything to Gabe in a way he could understand. Chemo Duck was a true companion who shared his remarkable gift with Gabe and Gabe loves him still. Gabe's nurses, doctors and child life specialists used and loved Chemo Duck too. Today Chemo Duck helps children of all ages, everywhere, SEE and practice procedures, making cancer treatment as familiar and predictable as chicken soup! Chemo Duck waddles and quacks his way into your heart as he helps kids with cancer and their families deal seriously with cancer with a laugh and a smile.

Mr. Salerno adds, "When Lu asked my to create a cartoon that would bring Chemo Duck to life in a new way, I saw it as a way to help kids like Neil. Until then, aside from grumbling for 25-years, I felt helpless as well."

The released cartoon trailer is the first segment of the Cartoon series that will go on to teach kids and families useful facts about cancer treatment and what to expect while quacking us up and keeping us smiling. Cancer treatment has come a long way since Neil's experience, and today so many kids diagnosed with cancer go on to live full and wonderful lives. Gabe's is one of these happy stories! Yet Gabe never forgets the feathery friend who help him get through the hardest times. And today when he watches the cartoon, it makes him laugh and smile.

Chemo Duck is: a huggable feathery friend who answers a whole bunch of questions in a warm and unique way when answers are needed the most.
