Create Your Ideal Shower Enclosure

Pivot shower doors or bi-fold shower doors, there is a style to suit any bathroom on the Big Bathroom Shop.

May 24, 2010 - PRLog -- There are many types of shower enclosures to choose from on the Big Bathroom Shop, whether you have a small or large bathroom you can be sure you will create the perfect shower enclosure.

The bi-fold shower door is a popular choice, the main advantage with this style is that the whole of the shower door folds back to allow easy access in and out of the shower, and they don't take up much floor space. The bi-fold shower door is an ideal choice where space is limited, they can be used with side panels to create a full shower enclosure or be built into a recessed area. This type of shower door does not come in a frameless design due to it needing a hinge mechanism.

Another popular and inexpensive choice is the pivot shower door, they open outwards to allow easy access into the shower, but this requires more floor space and therefore could limit where to place the shower enclosure. The pivot shower door is a simple design and looks stylish when fitted into a recess, this means the only glass panel is the shower door. This style is also available in a semi-frameless design, and creates a minimalist look with clean lines.

Sliding shower doors are a convenient choice and provide a minimal look without the shower door opening into the bathroom and taking up any valuable space. The sliding shower door is is divided into two separate panels, where one panel slides back. This type of shower enclosure tends to be larger than other types of enclosures, when the door is opened there needs to be enough space to get in and out of the shower easily. This style is a good choice if you are looking to replace an existing bath.

If you want to create a designer look in your bathroom the walk-in shower enclosure is ideal, they do require plenty of space though, the minimum length is 1400mm, this is another good choice if you are looking to replace an existing bath. The walk-in shower enclosure usually has a fixed front glass panel which encloses one half of the shower tray, the other half is used for a drying area.

If you have a small bathroom the quadrant enclosure is the perfect choice, it can be placed into awkward corners. The quadrant enclosure places the doors on the front curved area of the enclosure, the doors are usually sliding but can be pivoted. They work well with small shower trays and provide the maximum opening available without the need for a lot of space.
