May 18, 2010 - PRLog -- Leading Women, an organization that inspires, powers, and honors the success of women leaders, today announced expansion into Connecticut. Members in this new region will benefit from professional connections to hundreds of influential women leaders, access to cutting edge leadership programs, and career tools and resources to become a more confident and effective leader.

Leading Women of Connecticut will present “Lessons in Leadership Breakfast Series” on May 21 at 8:30am at the Hilton Mystic sponsored by Pfizer, Lawrence & Memorial Hospital and Right Management. This event features Dr. Diane Jorkasky, senior vice president chief medical officer, and head of development at Aileron Therapeutics. Jorkasky will offer her perspective on organizational change and how it can present the greatest opportunity for professional advancement.

“Leadership is all about taking professional leaps further, and perhaps bigger, than one ever thought possible,” said Jorkasky. “My goal in speaking to women and sharing my experiences is to help them understand how to prepare for advancement and move their trajectory further along the path they wish to pursue.”

This event is $35 per person including breakfast. Registration is available online at leadingwomen.biz.

The “Lessons in Leadership Breakfast Series” series sponsored in part by Pfizer, Lawrence & Memorial Hospital and Right Management continues on June 22, at 8:30am at the Hilton Mystic with Denise Nemchev, staff executive and BDK integration leader, Stanley Black & Decker. Nemchev is one of the highest ranking women at Stanley Black & Decker leading several core growth strategic initiatives in the industrial and automotive sector. She will share her most important lessons and perspectives on strong leadership and effective communication in an arguably male-centric industry.

"The perceived ‘negatives' about being a woman in this business are indeed more perception than reality," said Nemchev. "Ultimately, people follow leaders who demonstrate the desire and track record of winning."

This event is $35 per person including breakfast. Registration is available online at leadingwomen.biz. The “Lessons in Leadership Series” is sponsored in part by Pfizer, Lawrence & Memorial Hospital and Right Management.
