Webroster MD cycles over 320 miles for charity.Nigel Gittins, Managing Director of Webroster Ltd, is cycling over 320 miles from London to Paris to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
By: Webroster Group The 520km ride from Hampton court Palace to the Eiffel Tower will take Nigel four days to complete. The event, known as the ‘L2P’, has 350 cyclists taking part and has been named by the Daily Telegraph as one of the world’s top 25 participation events. Nigel will be raising money for the charity through sponsorship before the ride, and has already raised over £1200. He strongly supports the JDRF which exists to find the cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications. It is the world’s leading charitable funder of type 1 diabetes research. JDRF has been responsible for more than £600 million direct funding of the most promising and groundbreaking type 1 diabetes research around the world. The charity has funded every major breakthrough in type 1 diabetes research in the last 30 years. Nigel said: “I chose this charity because my 4year old nephew Max and work colleague Olivia’s daughter Sophie, were diagnosed type 1 diabetes; a life threatening condition which has altered their daily lives. Max's pancreas no longer works and therefore has multiple daily injections to help his body process the foods he eats and control his blood sugars.
