RAD Communications CTO at 4G Congress: "Impact of Broadband Mobile is still beyond our Imagination"

May 9, 2010 - PRLog -- As the crowds entered the hall of the Sheraton Hotel in Tel Aviv one could sense the expectation for the next revelation. Professor Daniel Kofman, the Chief Technologies Officer at RAD Communications is known for his thorough analysis of broad Telecom trends.
In his opening session he lay out the current state of Broadband Mobile and gave his opinion on how its evolving: "there is a merger between he physical world, and the digital one. What serves as a platform for this merger is the Internet". Kofman offered the new terms we will hear more about when it comes to digital convergence: "Self Organization, Random Networking". He referred to the possibility where "Green and Smart Cities" will offer independent transportation, energy optimization and management. The internet will join the 3D arena i its content services aspect and "Cloud Computing" will be an integral part of the Broadband Mobile so more contents, more apps can be offered.  

Kofman defined the next generation of broadband as the "Web 4.0" which includes Semantic search on dynamic social networks and Semantics based services compositions.

Next on the convention's agenda, executive speakers from Partner, AudioCodes, RDT, ITS-TELECOM, Athena, and more.

About Daniel Kofman:

Dr. Daniel Kofman was appointed Chief Technology Officer of RAD Data Communications in 2006. Daniel is also a professor at Telecom ParisTech, were he headed the “Networks, Mobility and Security” research lab. Over the past 15 years he served as a consultant for several companies (carriers, manufacturers, venture capital firms) and public organizations, such as the European Commission. He is the chairman of the steering committee of the Network of Excellence “Euro-NF, Anticipating the Network of the Future” (which was known as Euro-NGI in the previous FP6 phase), an initiative of the European parliament, whose members include Europe’s most prominent experts in the field.
Among his various activities, Daniel is member of the scientific committee of the French parliament. He also founded two telecommunications start-ups.
Dr. Kofman's contributions focus both on technology and in his strategic vision of future markets. His primary areas of professional expertise have been present and future networking technologies and network architecture design and engineering, including topics such as all-IP networking and Carrier Ethernet, global convergence of networks and services, the future of the Internet, future cellular networks (beyond 3G), global mobility, self-organization and self-management, wireless sensor networks, and opportunistic networking.
Daniel has authored a book on high-speed networking and more than 60 professional papers. He is regularly invited to speak at international industry events.
