Keith Olbermann's relationship with Major League Baseball was called into question Monday. RespecttheGreatGame.com asks its visitors to sign a petition that questions why a polarizing figure like MSNBC's Olbermann is allowed to write for MLB.com.
RespecttheGreatGame.com has posted a video highlighting what its organizers feel is a sample of Mr. Olbermann's most controversial statements, surrounded by baseball themed content.
A quote posted on the site states, "Free speech is a wonderful thing. But associating hate speech with the great game is not so wonderful. Why is MLB letting KO write for its blog?"
The website insists that the petition drive is not a boycott of MLB.com or Major League Baseball. It says the purpose of the petition is to, "ask Major League Baseball to think about its business relationships and the image it wishes to portray to fans of the great American game of baseball."
The site claims that the results of the petition will be delivered to Major League Baseball Commisioner Bud Selig. The petition can be found at www.RespecttheGreatGame.com.
