April 30, 2010 - PRLog -- You needn’t look far for information on reducing dog bites in Chicago.  The question Ami Moore, The Chicago Dog Coach asks, is a simple one: Is the public really getting the full story? If the mainstream media provides any clues, the answer is most likely no. Ami Moore will be taking that message directly to the public by appearing at Senator Kirk Dillard's Children's Health Fairs.

The Chicago Dog Coach has manned booths at Children’s Health Fairs all over Chicagoland. The season is starting again, and Ami Moore the Chicago Dog Coach will volunteer her time at several conferences and fairs at Senator Dillard's request to spread the word about reducing dog bites. The first fall fair is scheduled to begin in September.

“It’s time we separate fact from fiction," stated Ms. Moore, "and myths from truths. I will share several 'Dogtoids' that illustrate the real nature of dogs. The real story here is that dog bites are not about the dog. It is instead about the dog owner.” She asks every dog owner in Chicago to consider several important facts before deciding on how to keep their child safe from biting dogs:

Dogtoid 1 - The most aggressive dog in the world is considered to be the Cocker Spaniel - not the Pit Bull or Rottweiler.

Dogtoid 2 - Well-bred dogs from a breeder offer Chicago dog-loving families a source for stable, healthy and well balanced dogs.

The American Kennel Club provides materials to help Ami Moore, the Chicago Dog Coach, to educate the public on how to greet dogs properly. She is a staunch advocate of the science of raising purebred dogs and supports the American Kennel Club in making sure that dogs are well mannered and safe in public.

Ami Moore is widely recognized as one of America’s leading dog training masters. She has dovetailed her love of learning, her coaching skills and her love of dogs into the creation of a vibrant company that has enabled her to create harmony between homeowners and dogs in homes all over America. As a dog trainer, personal coach and therapist, she assists non-profit organizations in creating and implementing therapy/service dog programs in schools, churches, community centers, prisons and other businesses.

"In my book, 'The Alphatude Attitude'", continued Ms. Moore, "I talk about how the human component, particularly the feelings of fear, anger and frustration, influence a dog's behavior. The human learning to control their emotions is an important part of this process. I always tell my clients that their dogs need leadership more than love. ‘Alphatude’ is the leadership attitude expressed in a way that the dog understands. Dogs don’t really understand abstractions like words or emotions. Dogs understand concrete communication: tone, body language and facial expression.”
