2010 Winner of the Wireless Communications Alliance Special Award: Andrea Lincoln, Harker School

The Wireless Communications Alliance announces Andrea Lincoln of Harker School as the 2010 winner of the Special Award for the best high school science project related to wireless communications at the March 2010 Synopsys® Championship Science Fair.
 
April 19, 2010 - PRLog -- The Wireless Communications Alliance is pleased to announce Andrea Lincoln as this year’s winner of the Wireless Communications Alliance Special Award for the best high school science project related to wireless, communications, intelligence or information systems at the March 2010 Synopsys® Championship Science Fair.  Ms. Lincoln’s winning project was selected from the submissions of over a thousand students who participated in the event at the San Jose Convention Center.  The Wireless Communications Alliance Special Award winner was chosen by a panel of two judges, both PhDs, who have extensive knowledge and experience in the field of wireless communications.

Ms. Lincoln is a senior at The Harker School in San Jose, California.  Her winning project is titled: “Fault Tolerance of Node Failures in a Stochasic Localizaton Algorithm for Wireless Sensor Networks”.  As a Wireless Communications Alliance Special Awards winner, both she and the Harker School will each receive a $100 award.  

David Witkowski, President of the Wireless Communications Alliance, said: “We congratulate all students and teachers who took part in this year’s Science Fair, and are pleased to award Ms. Andrea Lincoln this year’s Wireless Communications Alliance Special Award for her accomplishments in the field of wireless sensor networks.  In doing so the WCA honors an exceptional student and her supporting teachers at The Harker School.  The Wireless Communications Alliance Special Award was created as a way to encourage students interested in pursuing careers in wireless communications, and in doing so help continue Northern California’s rich and varied tradition as a center of excellence for radio and wireless.”
